Great Southern Hotel is located in a historic 19th-century building in the heart of Sydney CBD (Central Business District), just 5 minutes’ walk from Central Station. Air conditioning is standard inrooms. Located next to Chinatown, the hotel features a restaurant and a bar.

The Great Southern Hotel Sydney is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Capitol Theatre, and 10 minutes’ walk from the famous Queen Victoria Building. Darling Harbour is a 15-minute walk away.

All smoke-free standard rooms have a refrigerator, teacoffee maker and work desk. Each room has a bathroom with a hairdryer and guest toiletries.

The hotel offers a 24-hour reception desk and a guest laundry. The tour desk can provide sightseeing advice and help guests with travel arrangements.

The hotel day starts from hour 14:00 and ends at 10:00.

All guests must sign the propertys Terms of Stay.

You must show a valid photo ID and credit card upon check in. This credit card and photo ID must be in the same name as the guests name on the booking confirmation. If the booking has been made in a different name to the guest’s name on arrival, an authorisation form will need to be completed.

Please note that there is a non-refundable 2.0% credit card fee when you pay with a Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, JCB or UnionPay credit card.

Early check in is available for an additional AUD $30.00 (subject to room availability after 10.00am).

Late Check Out is available for an additional AUD $35.00 (until 1 pm). Please notify reception by 10:00 am on your check out date if you require a late check out.

Please note the covered parking has a height restriction of 1.8 metres.

Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. The legal guardian must provide a current photo ID or proof of guardianship if requested upon check-in.

Standard Queen Room. This air-conditioned room features TV, a refrigerator, teacoffee maker and work desk. Please note when booking the Standard Queen Room, the room will have either a queen-size bed or 2 single beds pushed together. The hotel will allocate bedding configuration based on what is available on the day of arrival. If you require a queen-size bed, please inform the hotels reception and they will try to move you to another room the following day if there is a queen-size bed available, however this cannot be guaranteed. Used towels, crockery and debris bags can be left outside the room for collection between 09:00 and 14:00. This room has Queen Bedding or 2 Zip King Beds pushed together (subject to availability upon check in). ;
